Operating systems are updated regularly. We’re used to it. Microsoft released Windows 11 to replace IE11, which may cause some confusion. New web browsers seem to appear out of nowhere. Why is this important?
IE11 will cease to be supported on 15 June. Depending on the version of Windows, it might stop working entirely at that time.
This could result in you being unable to access Bacs services. Businesses that access the Payment Services Website using PKI (smartcard solutions) to download reports will need to enable Microsoft’s IE11 compatibility Mode, which is part of the Edge browser.
This compatibility mode has been tested extensively and is the best for PSW users. We used our experiences to create a step by step guide for how to set it up.
You should also consider your operating system. Edge compatibility mode will only work with Windows 10 or 11. Your internal IT support can advise you on this.
As we near Microsoft’s 15-June deadline, you need to ensure that you do the right thing or you risk losing access to Bacs services.
