Ihad been wanting to try and write a Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser review ever since the brand was launched in 2014, and there’s so much hype about this product as well so it made me want to try it more. So yeah, it took me almost four years to finally try the product but is it worth it? Scroll down to know.
WHAT IS IT?
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser claims to be the “one face wash to rule them all” the ideal daily cleanser as per their website. It can be used on dry skin to remove dirt and makeup or on your skin that is wet when you begin your day. The pH-balanced and creamy formula is formulated with five different facial moisturizers to ensure your skin feels healthy and soft, but never tight. The power of cleansing comes through the gentle cleansing agents that are found in contact lens solutions, making it impervious to impurities but safe for your eyes.
It is possible to read the entire list of ingredients as well as analyses on the Skin Carisma.
PERFORMANCE
Application: In the morning massage 1-2 pumps on the skin (keep them in your bathroom!) and wash. Remove your makeup apply it to dry skin. Gently and thoroughly apply 2-3 pumps directly onto the eye area to melt mascara away; apply water, then massage it over your entire face, then wash. If your makeup is not waterproof, it should be removed and waterproof, then it is recommended to use an oil for cleansing. cleaning oil first. Then, follow using Milky Jelly for complete clean.
SCENT This scent has a light floral smell. It actually resembles that of the Philippines country flower, which is the Sampaguita.
Packaging: It is packaged in its original packaging, just the pump bottle wrapped in plastic wrap. It comes with the famous shiny bubble wrap pouch, as well as adorable stickers.
Texture: Despite the “milky jelly” name I’m not sure the texture to be reminiscent of a jelly with milk. It’s more like a cream-gel , in my view. Similar to the moisturizers that are designed for people who have oily skin.
result: If you enjoy cleansing your face with foaming cleanser, this product isn’t for you. Consider Cetaphil, if you’ve already used one. the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser doesn’t foam like Cetaphil. It’s actually a lot like Cetaphil’s formula but more gel-like, heavier and has a better scent. It’s also a similar process of cleansing with oil, but without the oily feel and the hassle in washing off the product with water. you simply massage your face with the product until you feel that your face is cleansed.
After washing my face, I could feel my skin softand clean. Without the tight or dry sensation It truly is an exfoliating face wash! As an anti-makeup remover even if I don’t have waterproof foundation, this product does not work as well. It is still necessary to double cleanse as it can’t actually completely remove the makeup that is on your skin contrary to what the product claims. Personally, I like this method of double cleansing.
VERDICT
Pros: It is hypoallergenic and safe for areas around the eyes. It is suitable for all types of skin, is free of parabens, soap-free, sulfate-free as well as cruelty-free, non-comedogenic and vegan. It’s a great cleanser that will leave your skin clean and moisturized. It’s also soft. It also smells wonderful.
Cons: It does not effectively remove waterproof makeup, and for a simple 6oz. cleanser, it’s far too expensive. For less than the cost you already have Hada Labo Gokujyun foaming wash along with 16 ounces. Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser.
UPDATE 10 JANUARY 2020 There’s been nearly two years since I’ve examined this product but just recently, I came across something interesting about the product. While I was sleeping at my friend’s house she informed me that Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser hurts her skin, so she decided to stop using it. Then, I and a sleepover friend attempted it again. I felt some tingling on my face, while my other friend washes off the Glossier cleanser since she felt discomfort. I’m not certain what’s causing this. Maybe they’ve changed their formulation or maybe it’s a bad batch, however whatever the reason is, if you’ve got sensitive skin, you should be cautious concerning this product.
